Turning the Page

He is ashes.
We have rejoiced in his life

Is nothing required?
This new life is unfamiliar
No mealtimes
No listening for pauses in that rough breathing
No morning routines of meds and bathing
Should I now feel guilty for the burden lifted?
I would swear it was not a burden,
just life, doing what I could do.
But still I am filled with unexpected lightness.
